NASA Officials Confirm Death Report

NASA officials confirmed rumors that the bird that collided with the space shuttle on its latest liftoff was in fact a duck, and today, in a press release, Hollywood officials confirmed that that duck was none other than Warner Brothers' star, Daffy Duck.

Rumors had been circulating for months about Mr. Duck's mental condition, and rumors circulated about his frequent tirades on the set of his latest movie. Just last month footage appearing to show Duck menacing popular character actor Elmer Fudd with a shotgun appeared on several Hollywood blogs. Duck was also involved in a heated contract over who would get top billing in his upcoming collaboration with Buggs Bunny.

Cast on the set were stunned. Bunny cancelled shooting for the day, saying, "What a maroon. We've all lost a friend today. Don't remember him as the tyrant he became, but as the wide eyed duckling who first came to this town."

Witnesses say Duck may have been drunk at the time, and increasingly common state for the famous star. Shortly before he took off he was spitting fire out of his mouth and smoke was coming out of his ears.

Bunny said that if Duck fails to may a quack recovery in classic toon fashion they may have to resort to digital animation to finish their movie, "even although digital animation is the very antithesis to pen and ink cartooning."

Close friends speculated that Daffy would have preffered to see Donald Duck fill in, although Donald says that feather dye gives him a rash. Another possibility is to delay the project until green Plucky Duck grows up and could finish the movie. Plucky Duck had no comment.

Daffy Duck's parents died in an accident at a chinese take-out resturant, which later inspired the famous dark comedy moment 'the cooked frog scene' in the popular 90's comedy Ally McBeal. Daffy's estate is said to be worth at least $100 Canadian. Plucky Duck is believed to be the sole heir.

Theater rivalries between Warner and Disney are said to have shattered the Duck family in recent years. Donald and Daffy, who had so much in common as cousins growing up, both suffering from speach impediments, were still cordial, but Donald confirmed he hadn't spoken with Daffy in quite some time. In his usual raspy voice, Donald said, "we will all miss him very, very much."
